Goulash is delicious, easy, and pretty cheap to make! My favorite recipe includes onions and celery, but you can use pretty much any veggie you think would taste good.
Goulash
Ingredients:
1.5 pounds ground beef
1 large onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1-28 ounce can tomato sauce
1-28 ounce can diced tomatoes, undrained
4 full stalks celery, chopped
1 tablespoon paprika
2 teaspoons seasoning salt
Black pepper, to taste
2 cups macaroni or other pasta noodles
Directions:
1. In a large pot, cook meat, onions, and garlic until meat is brown and onions are translucent.
2. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes with juice, celery, and spices. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered about 20 minutes or until celery is soft, stirring occasionally.
3. Stir in uncooked pasta and simmer uncovered another 20 minutes, or until pasta is fully cooked. Serve and enjoy.
Vegetarian and Vegan Version:
Substitute black beans for hamburger or omit entirely.
Gluten-Free Version:
Use gluten-free macaroni or rotini.
